Sony Betamax VCR model SL-5400. Introduced in November 1980 with a price tag of $1,450. First Betamax with a name: “Time Commander.” Introduced unique features such as variable-speed scan, frame-by-frame picture advance, variable speed slow motion, crystal-clear freeze frame, all accessible from the remote control, plus automatic rewind at end of tape. Had a Beta Stack changer as an option.
