Sony Betamax SL-F7. This is an ultra rare black Japanese version of the SL-2500. The first compact slim line VCRS.
Like the SL-2500, it has pretty much the same functions. Most of the buttons
are labeled in Japanese
characteristics,
though there are some English
characteristics
on some labels. The time display counts to 24 hours equivalent to USA
military time, and also displays Japanese
characteristics.
Features, frame by frame, slow motion also x1 x2
speeds, these features are called swing search and can be done in forward
and reverse. Also has Tape remaining indicator, index to mark tapes etc.
Pause, slow motion features on this VCR are very stable, a still picture
with no noise. Unit has two different doors, when tape is loaded the
"Cassette is inside Betamax" door comes up. The SL-2500 and SL-2700 Betamax
recorders were the only VCRS to have two different doors. Very modern VCR
for it's time. First VCR to offer real linear time counter. The AG-400
cassette auto changer could be used with this VCR for more recording time
and different events when user was not home. Cassette auto changers are not
very reliable. This VCR Also has a 10 minute on board battery backup incase
of a power surge, this was good for keeping the programmed recording events, and the time.
